SUDS, or Saskatoon Ultimate Disc-Sport Society is a non profit Ultimate league in Saskatoon, SK.
Saskatchewan Ultimate was initially started in the early 1990's in Saskatoon as a pickup league. Teams were comprised mostly of friends who shared the common love for a flying disc.Regina Ultimate (RUFDC) started later in the decade under the same principles and Ultimate was primarily restricted to these two locations. Competition grew creating touring teams that traveled to regional tournaments and eventually nationals.
In 1999, there were about 16 teams equally spread between Regina and Saskatoon. This was also the first year for a provincial championship featuring the leading teams from both cities. Regina and Saskatoon continued to work together to increase competition and awareness through hosting tournaments, increasing allotted field space and attracting new players from the sports demonstration of respect and goodwill amongst players.
Since SUDS began, there has been tremendous growth each year and the league now boasts approximately 850 members and about 55 summer teams.
SUDS also organizes an indoor league which runs from mid-November until early April.
